Having a domain name can be a big deal because it is also like your own personal web or virtual counterpart. This is the name that users identify and associate with the kind of character you choose to reveal online. Suffice to say, your own domain name must be unique yet keyword rich at the same time especially in conducting online business. Your domain name is the first crucial step towards online business success. Here are seven useful techniques that you can employ to maximize your very own domain name and make online business a more lucrative personal endeavor:
1. Keep your domain name short and concise. You may choose a combination of two to three words because most users can only remember the same amount of words in domain names.
2. Include a highly searched keyword in your domain name so search engines can easily pick you up on their radar.
3. Why not try using your product name as well? This will hit two birds with one stone because once someone buys your products he or she will be continually reminded by it as the label is associated with your website as well.
4. Double letters on your domain name should be avoided because they can easily cause confusion to online users.
5. If you can, try to get a domain name with a .com ending instead of others because .com is easier to remember due to its commonality.
6. Do not just stop at one website – create several others using other good combinations of key words. This way search engines pick up on all of your sites, too!
7. If you feel that you have established yourself, then by all means go ahead and register your name as the domain name. But this should only be done if you are confident enough in your following.
