People who have started blogging with their own dedicated host and domain name would be in control of everything they do, while those who are on free host like blogger or wordpress will not get a chance to adjust or tweak their host information. What you can do is switch to a dedicated domain name which is right to describe your blogs content.
If your current blog is on sub domain like blogspot or wordpress and wondering why you are not doing well, then it can be because your domain is not right and easy to spell or remember. I am very sure with a sub domain, it is already pretty long to remember your blog address, with extra notes to remember like having hyphens in your domain name will cause your readers to mistaken touch down on another blog and that is not what you want.
For now, you can always get a new domain from godaddy and it is very cheap at $6.99 for each domain name, you now have to decide on whether to use dot com, net, info? I would suggest you use dot com or else dot net, because they are more commonly searched for on the net and much easier to remember. Now what you need is your domain name, it must not be more than 15 letters and have any full stop or hyphens within. This cause too much confusion if anyone is to remember your blog name. That will be a mistake that you can't make twice, for those who have been on sub domain with hyphens or long domain names, it is time you change them for your new domain name and redirect them to the new name.
Try to make it related to the product or niche you are talking about, otherwise you can use your name as a blog site. As long as it sounds like a word , it will make it easy to remember. Good Luck on your next domain name for your blog!
