Domain Names - Home Based-Business Or Affiliate Program?

By Terri Stallcop

Let's talk about affiliate programs and ways to monetize your business prospects. Or, an even more FUN topic would be How To Make More Money. A little while back I had no idea that I could make money online. I didn't know what an affiliate program was and I certainly didn't know how to market one.

Now I know how much FUN the new Fun-damentals of network marketing can be!

My FUN-damentals of success have changed! Now that I know a tiny bit more about marketing and a lot more about how to build a network, let me briefly explain.

As you might know, affiliates programs do the marketing. All you have to do to make more money is share a website with people, either online or off. Who knew! Where have affiliate programs been all my life :) For example, this is my favorite affiliate because it's so easy. It's called Global Domains International (GDI)

GDI provides web services and an affiliate program that can make extra income for you. Since you don't even have to know anything about marketing, it's the perfect extra income source online. But if you decide to go ahead and do affiliate marketing with GDI, you can create more than extra cash."Income For Life" is GDI's slogan.

For some, GDI is more than an affilliate program. It is an extremely successful home-based business. It costs $10/month. A lot of people really enjoy the fact that there isn't any product inventory and there isn't a lot of arm twisting strategies in the GDI training. In fact, the GDI system doesn't include any sales tactics of any kind.

But let's say all you want is a little extra income. You don't care about a home-based business. You just want a $500/month raise. Here's what you buy with your first $10 - a 10 page website with GDI hosting and one domain name. Now, don't worry about having to build a 10 page website. It's available but you certainly do not have to use it. Plus, it isn't necessary to have more than one GDI domain name but I do recommend at least one.

Only one of my domain names right now is from GDI, the one that goes with my website. You see, it's not the domain name or the website services that is worth $10/month. Afterall, at GoDaddy domain names are only $10/year!

What is waaayyy more valuable that $10/month buys you is the affiliate program. And you don't even have to study how that works. GDI is the best I've seen in fast start training. Like I said, you don't have to market GDI. All you need to do is share the movie, get 5 people to join within one week, and you receive your first bonus which is a $100 bonus. You've just recouped your $10/month for almost the whole year.

That's why getting 5 other people to do the same is so easy because every time anyone recruits 5 people inside a week, another $100. There's no limit to how often you get that bonus.

Now here's the unbelievable part. This will sound like hype, but stay with me... if you and your 5 do that kind of recruiting, that is a big dollar figure. Not hype, you actually make $3905 that month.

But don't take my word for it. Do this...

  • Click on one of my domain names <<<======= click
  • Then click on the banner
  • Then opt-in to my Ferrari :) capture page
  • Then do the 7 day trial for free
  • Sign up your first 5 during that trial week for the $100 bonus
  • Make sure your 5 do the same
  • Cash your $3905 check

See what I mean. It's not really about domain names. It's about making more money and helping others do the same.

Simple Ways To Buy And Sell Domain Names

By Oseremen Aigbokhae

To buy and sell domain names online is the best business you can find on the internet. It is almost risk free and involves small capital investment as low as $10. You can register a quality domain name for $9.25 only and sell as much as $5,000 within 30 days or less.

Here are my guaranteed simple ways to thrive in this lucrative business.

1. Research before Registering Domains

In this business, junk domains have no place of recognition. If you register a poor name, the truth is that you may not be able to sell it even for the cost of registration.

So research domain names that are:

- niche market specific (marketability)
- easy to remember (memorable)
- generic (everyday English words that are popular)
- free from infringement (no trademark violations)
- short words (the shorter the better)
- keyword or keyword phrase rich (for search engine positioning)
- dot com extension preferred (.com, .net, .org etc in that order)

2. Market Your Registered Domains

Thousands, if not millions of names are being registered daily. This means that the market is more than saturated competitively for your names to stand out. Therefore, the simplest way to sell is to aggressively market your product in prime websites with prime, auction or featured listing. Create awareness and buying desire in the minds of your prospects.

3. Sell after Domain Name Appraisal

In order not to short change or price yourself out of the market, you need to compare the price you expect from your domain names with similar ones already sold. Or, in the alternative, you can invest between $15 and $50 in appraisal if you can afford it. The advantage of appraisal is that it gives you a realistic idea of how much to expect from a sale or to know what to do with the domain name before selling.

Personally, for instance, an appraised name with $150 or less value simply prompt me to develop it over time before selling rather than outright sale after registration.

As I continue to earn money from it through affiliate products sales, contextual advertising (e.g. Google AdSense, bidvertiser, etc) and selling my own products I am invariably increasing its value by how much I currently earn from it for eventual sale.

Make Money With Domain Real Estate Online

By Kristi Ambrose

What is domain real estate and how can you make money with it? Well as the title says, its real estate for your domains. You can buy and or sell domains that you own. The best thing you can do is to NOT just go out and register a domain name and expect it to sell for thousands of dollars.

If you expect to be able to buy a domain name that you just registered and sell it, your crazy! In order to sell a domain, and have it be worth anything it either has to be brand-able (hotels.com, cars.com photography.com), or it has to be worth something to begin with. A domain is worth something, usually when its already developed into an existing website.

This isn't always the case, but more often than not it is. Example, I bought a domain at the beginning of 08 for $9.99 on NameCheap, just because I was curious about this domain real estate thing. On sites like estibot it was worth zero, it had no back links, no rank, brand new. So I decided to get it developed, which is one of the most important things for any domain name.

With in 7 months it went from being worth zero to being worth over $1500. Again not that much money. But by having it developed and getting back links to it, it was raised from PR0 to PR3 in just a month, and every single week the price goes up $10-$20. This website isn't anything spectacular. Its just a one page, developed joke site. So imagine how much a domain could be worth if you really got involved in developing it!

Once you get it developed, and its actually worth something to someone (an individual or a company) you can sell this domain for money. Domain real estate follows the buy low sell high rule. You could easily buy a domain for $5000 and sell it in a few months or a year for triple that amount, if you work at it. Or in some instances like mine you can register a domain name, develop it, market it, get traffic to it, and sell it in a year for a few grand.

And yes, people do this for a living and actually make really great money at it. The real point is having "an eye" for a good domain name. The rules have sort of changed over the years, but it used to be that the domain was considered worthy if it was brand-able, one worded (cat, dog, art, photography, truck, car, fabulous etc), and if it was a .com extension. Now this still does come in hand when doing domain real estate, but there's also a new rule. A domain name may not always be worth very much to an individual, but it might be worth a lot to the end user. An end user, is someone that is actually going to use the domain and not resell it like you may have.

So StumpSomeone may not be worth anything to you or me, but to someone interested in having a joke website, they might be willing to pay a pretty penny for it, sometimes its good to sit on a domain for awhile rather than just sell it right away. Find the right buyer. But don't ask for a price that no one is willing to pay because then you will never sell the domain and that's NOT what you want. There are tons of sites you can find more info on about domain real estate. Here are a few really good reference and resource sites you can take a look at; NamePros, Sedo, Moniker etc.

Could Your Domain Name Be Harmful For Business?

By Tracy Hamilton

Imagine being able to run your business twenty-four hours a day Seven days a week and never leave your home to do so.

Building a business online can be very lucrative if you have the proper domain name for your business.

You don't want to misinform your clients by advertising something that you don't sell to get them into your store. This can lead to problems and you don't need that.

Once you decide on your domain name you may want to consider your most popular item that you will be providing and see if you can add that into your domain name.

Like if you have the name "Pens R Us" chances are your customers will know that you are selling pens, paper, and office supplies.

Once they need to order they can click on your web site to select from the many assortments that you carry. They may even be able to get their company logo on the penswhen they order. This is a cool way to add your business product into your domain name.

Whenever you are selling pens and office supplies and you choose a domain name such as "Paper Products", this deals with a lot of general ground and may not appeal to the prospective customers that you would have attracted if you had used "Pens R Us".

You need to try to be precise on your domain name in order to get it accurate. Your name sometimes says it all and it is all that someone will see. Choose a name that is significant to your business and you will be a success.

Tracy Hamilton is budding network marketer who has finally received the truth about marketing his network marketing business successfully. After years of struggling he has found his answer and possibly yours as well! Business Domain Names - Picking a URL That Sells

By Sarah Borroum

When you're creating a business Web site, selecting a good domain name is one of the most important things that you can do. When you have the right URL, your site hits - and resulting sales - will increase. You'll also enjoy more return visitors and repeat customers, which is rarely something to complain about.

Here are the things that you need to think about when you shop for your domain name.

A "simple" URL is a lot easier to remember than a sub-domain. You should go ahead and pay to register ExampleSite.com instead of going the freebie route with MyHost.ExampleSite.com. The former is easier for customers to remember, but is also more professional. Image matters, even on the Internet, so don't be frugal where your domain name is concerned.

If the domain that is best for your business is already registered, you can attempt to purchase the domain from the current owner. There is an active secondary market in domains, and domainers are people who buy and sell domains for profit.

The address that you pick should also be descriptive. If you're selling used auto parts, fit that into the URL. If you're selling a specific type of parts - just radiators, for example - make sure that the URL includes the word "radiators" somewhere.

Spelling is more important than some people think. Try to avoid words that are easily misspelled. Otherwise, you'll have quite a bit of lost traffic because people won't find your site.

Generally, you should go for longer URLs. For instance, if your business is called Thomas Paine's Discount Radiators, TPDR.com is a better choice than ThomasPaineDiscountRadiators.com, which is too long. You may also want to choose a more generic domain, such as DiscountRadiators.com.

Remember that many people will find your site via offline advertising, including word of mouth. If they hear about your URL on the radio, or see your business ad in print, they're going to have to manually enter the address. Make this process as easy and predictable as possible for these visitors so that they'll actually come to your site.

Your base URL - www.ExampleSite.com - needs to take visitors directly to the main page. The simplest address should be the starting point: otherwise, visitors will be confused and much more likely to leave.

Think about your own Web surfing habits before you select your domain name. What addresses are easiest for you to remember? Which ones are inconvenient? Ask your friends and relatives for their input as well: it's very difficult to glean too much feedback when you're in the planning stages.

You should also make sure that your domain name of choice won't result in a lawsuit. Infringing on a registered business name isn't a good idea at all.

Sometimes, people who choose business domain names unknowingly select an embarrassing double entendre. Have friends or family members look at your preferred domain name, as this can help you avoid the unintentional faux pas. If they snicker at your site name, you might consider picking something else.

A legal restriction in the U.S., called the Truth in Domain Names Act, prevents the use of misleading site names. For instance, if you intend to host adult-oriented material, you can't use a URL that leads visitors to believe that they're coming to a radiator parts supply.

The extension - the letters that follow the last dot - is also important. By default, most people type in ".com." If your business is targeting an American or international audience, it is worth trying to get a decent .com domain. Each country has their own country code, and if your business is targeting a particular country, you should use the local country code. For instance, if your business is targeting India, you should get a .in or .co.in domain.

When you purchase your very own domain name, you can enjoy creating your site. You'll have the knowledge that you've picked the best possible name for your business site and that, if things go well from here on out, you'll be drawing in visitors and customers for a long time to come.

Domain Name Trading Or Domain Flipping

By Phil Richards

Domain Name Trading :
Everyone knows that the cost of living is on the way up. Most people are working hard to earn an income just to be able to survive. Apart from their day jobs, many people are now even looking for a second job that will enable them to earn some extra cash. Because of this there is a growing trend for people to be trying to get into other money generating schemes such as creating an online business.

There are many types of online business which are currently available. Affiliate Marketing and Multi-Level Marketing are some popular types of online business, although there are many more. These businesses however do have some disadvantages (there is no guarantee of income and they can be very labour intensive.)

If you are looking for a way to earn an income from the comfort of your home, then Domain Name Trading may be the right type of online business for you. The way that I like to think about this is much like selling a virtual home. The way this business works is that you buy a domain (which is the address of a web-site), you can make some changes in it (or possibly if the name of the domain is good enough, you don't even have to make any changes at all!) and then you sell it to make profit. The beauty of this type of business is that you can work on it as much or as little as you are able. You only need to put in an hour a day for this business to work.

Domain Name Trading - A Very Profitable Business
This is a very easy and profitable type of business. All you need to do is buy a domain name that can cost you around $10 or less.

After that, you need to either work on your domain name or hold onto it for a while to make it more valuable to other buyers who may be interested in buying the domain name for a higher price than you paid. You may even be able to sell your domain name for hundreds or thousands of dollars.

This is a simple process, you begin by investing a few dollars in the beginning, later you are able to earn thousands of dollars. The ability to earn thousands of dollars only requires a couple of hours work a day. The chances of earning are much higher with this method than any other type of online business. With the help of this business, you may also be able to sell information on other products such as audio and videos on a website.

If you already have a website of your own, reserve the domain names you have purchased to direct traffic to your website. Then when someone looks for a domain name similar to yours, they will instantly be directed to your website. If you have a popular domain name, buyers will pay you a huge amount. As you can see, domain name trading is a really profitable business for everyone interested in being able to work online.

Reasons Why:

• Domain name trading is a very addictive form of online business.
• Anyone who is familiar with using a computer and the internet is able to run this business.
• This business offers a large pay packet every month which everyone needs nowadays.
• This business does not affect your ability to do your day job and you can work as and when you are able.
• In addition, this business allows you to spend quality time with your friends and family.

As you can see, with so many features and benefits, why would you want to choose any other type of online business? Domain name trading is the type of business where there are very great opportunities to be successful in life. With this business, you will be able to give your family a better life and greater happiness all at the same time.
